"Two Redheads & A Dead Blonde" written by Lloyd Corricelli and illustrated by yours truly is now up on Kickstarter! (Here is the Link)
The Graphic novel is based on the first of the Ronan Marino Mystery Series from Sons of Liberty Publishing. The book is about, well, I'll let Lloyd take over here, there is a reason why he is a writer where I am the artist...
It is a hard-boiled detective noir story in the tradition or Parker's Spenser or Spillane's Mike Hammer.
It features private detective Ronan Marino; the half Italian/half Irish
(he often jokes that due to his ethnic makeup he likes to drink
whiskey, write poetry then go out and break a few legs) son of a retired
firefighter, nephew to an alleged Boston Mafia Don and combat veteran
of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. With a strong sense of honor and duty
learned from his father and strengthened in the military, Ronan chooses
to help those who have no other place to turn; using the catch phrase
"the best that money can't buy.
Stopping for a cup of coffee one night while on an undercover job in Los Angeles, on a whim he played and won the biggest jackpot in the history of the California lottery. Leaving the military, he moved home where he planned on doing nothing more than pursuing his hobbies; like playing guitar in a pedestrian cover band and improving his vast collection of comic books. His retirement however was short lived after his new girlfriend is found dead in the cold waters of the Merrimack River. Using all the skills he learned in the military, Ronan uncovers her dark secret; one that powerful men on both sides of the law are desperate to remain hidden. Calling on his mob enforcer cousin for backup, Ronan dives headfirst into places where even angels fear to tread; committed to finding who took his girlfriend's life even at the cost of his own.
So my favorite of the rewards is that I'll put you in the book as either (and this is based on how much you toss in) a back ground character or a main character!
Here are a couple of drawings done up to give an idea of what things will look like...
Anyways this book is going to be good so toss in some bucks!
